Session Duration:

3-3.5 hours

Lip Blush is an advanced cosmetic tattoo technique that enhances your lips, resulting in a fuller, more defined look. It gently deposits pigment to correct asymmetry, add dimension, and brighten natural lip color, while minimizing the appearance of Fordyce spots, cleft lips, and scars. Lip Blush is also ideal for clients seeking an alternative to lip injections, as it can create the illusion of larger lips by filling in the pale or vermillion borders. It’s perfect for mature clients wanting to restore color and definition to lips that naturally fade with age.

Using a tattoo machine, Lip Blush applies fine dots of pigment evenly across the lips, offering better control, less skin trauma, and long-lasting, smudge-proof, and waterproof color. This method evens out lip tone and provides customizable shades to match any skin tone or style, making it a great choice for clients with sensitive skin or those looking for minimal-maintenance lip enhancement.

In addition to enhancing lip appearance, Lip Blush can reduce the appearance of fine lines around the lips by defining the vermillion border. It also reduces the need for frequent use of lip products, offering a consistent, natural tint. The process starts with a detailed consultation to select the perfect shade and shape, resulting in soft, beautiful lips that enhance your natural beauty.

Ideal For: Clients who want to enhance their natural lip color, correct asymmetry, create the appearance of fuller lips, minimize the appearance of Fordyce spots, conceal scars, improve the look of cleft lips, or restore color and definition to mature lips. Suitable for all skin types, including those with sensitive skin.

Longevity: Lip Blush can last up to 3 years, depending on factors such as skin type, lifestyle, and aftercare. A 6-8 week touch-up is included with this service to perfect the look and address any minor adjustments. If an additional touch-up is desired, it must be done 4-6 weeks after the included touch-up for an additional $100. Any touch-up beyond this point will be considered a maintenance service and charged accordingly.

3 STYLES AVAILABLE

  • Sheer Lip Blush

This technique creates a subtle, natural tint, perfect for clients who want a barely-there, “no makeup” look. The shading focuses on giving your lips a gentle flush of color, enhancing your natural lip tone while maintaining a soft, sheer appearance. This is ideal for those who want to add a hint of color without the need for daily lip products.

  • Full Lip Blush

For clients who prefer a more noticeable and defined look, Full Lip Blush provides deeper, more saturated color across the entire lip. This technique is great for those who want the effect of lipstick without the hassle of constant reapplication. The shading can be tailored to match your favorite bold or neutral lip shades, offering a polished, long-lasting result.

  • Ombré Lip Blush

The Ombré technique adds dimension by blending two or more shades, creating a gradient effect. Typically, the color is darker at the outer edges and gradually lightens toward the center, mimicking the appearance of fuller lips. This style is perfect for clients looking for a more dramatic and contoured lip effect without needing fillers or injections.

PROCESS

Consultation: Your Lip Blush journey begins with a comprehensive consultation where we discuss your goals for lip shape, color, and overall look. We assess your natural lip color, shape, and skin type to ensure the Lip Blush technique is the best option for you. You’re encouraged to bring in photos of your ideal lip results as well as your favorite lip colors that you use for makeup, so we can match or create the perfect shade tailored to your style.

Mapping and Design: Next, we carefully outline the ideal lip shape and border, considering your natural lip line and facial symmetry. We’ll discuss filling in the pale borders or vermillion border to create the illusion of fuller lips, if desired. You’ll have the opportunity to review and approve the design and color before we begin, ensuring you're fully satisfied with the planned outcome.

Application: Once the design is approved, we proceed with the Lip Blush application. Using a tattoo machine, we deposit fine dots of pigment into the lips, gradually building up color and depth. After the outline and first layer are completed, a high-quality numbing agent is applied to ensure your comfort during the remainder of the procedure. The process is done in layers to create a soft, natural look, or a more vibrant appearance, depending on your preference. The technique is gentle, minimizing skin trauma and promoting quicker healing.

Aftercare: Proper aftercare is crucial for optimal healing and color retention. You’ll be given detailed aftercare instructions to follow in the days and weeks after the procedure. This will include avoiding certain activities like sun exposure and specific skincare products to ensure the best possible results.

Touch-Up: A 6-8 week touch-up is included with this service to refine the color and make any necessary adjustments. If you feel an additional touch-up is needed, it must be done 4-6 weeks after the included touch-up for an additional $100. Any touch-up beyond this will be considered a maintenance service.

MAINTENANCE

Due to the nature of permanent makeup gradually fading over time, it's essential to schedule maintenance appointments to keep your Lip Blush looking fresh and defined. Factors such as skin type, lifestyle, and medical conditions can affect how quickly your lips fade. We recommend a maintenance session every 12 to 18 months, or once your pigment has faded by 50–75%, to maintain the vibrancy and shape of your lips.

  • Maintenance Pricing:

    • Within a year $350: A discounted rate for clients maintaining their lips within a year of their initial session.

    • Over 1 year $400: A slightly higher rate for clients who return after a year, ensuring the lips are refreshed and any minor fading is corrected.

If your Lip Blush has faded significantly beyond 2 years, a full initial session may be necessary to restore the desired look. Regular maintenance not only preserves the integrity of your lips but also prolongs the lifespan of the pigment, keeping them looking flawless throughout the years.

  • Permanent makeup is a beautiful investment that naturally fades over time, with the duration varying based on factors like skin type, lifestyle, and skincare routines. We provide an estimate of how long your service might last, but each individual’s experience can be different—some clients may notice fading sooner, while others may retain their results longer. Oily skin, frequent facials, the use of skincare products like retinol or acids, and activities that cause excessive sweating can accelerate the fading process. We recommend scheduling maintenance appointments only once the pigment has faded by 50-75% to ensure your look remains natural and fresh. Touching up too soon or too often can lead to oversaturation, causing the pigment to blur or create a ‘blocky’ appearance. If your brows or other PMU areas are still holding well, there's no rush to book a refresher. Allowing your permanent makeup to fade naturally helps maintain that crisp, defined look without the risk of overworking the skin. If you're unsure whether you're ready for a touch-up, feel free to reach out with photos, and we’ll guide you on the best timing for your maintenance.

FAQ

  • Yes, all clients should book a consultation to discuss their lip goals and preferences. During this session, we'll evaluate your natural lip shape, color, and skin type, as well as your expectations, to ensure the Lip Blush technique is the best fit for you. If you have existing pigmentation or previous lip tattoos, a consultation is required to determine your suitability.

    CONSULTATIONS

  • Lip Blush is a semi-permanent cosmetic tattoo technique that gently deposits pigment into the lips to enhance their natural color and shape. It can create the illusion of fuller lips, correct asymmetry, and restore definition and color to lips that may have faded over time.

  • Lip Blush is a semi-permanent procedure, meaning it will gradually fade over time. Most clients can expect their Lip Blush to last between 1-3 years, depending on factors such as skin type, lifestyle, and aftercare. Oily skin or frequent sun exposure may cause the pigment to fade faster. Regular touch-ups can help maintain the look over time.

  • Lip Blush is suitable for clients of all skin types, including those with uneven lip color, asymmetry, or scars. It’s also ideal for mature clients who want to restore natural color and definition to their lips. However, those who are pregnant, breastfeeding, or under 18 years old are not eligible for this procedure. If you’ve had recent fillers or Botox, it’s recommended to wait 3-4 weeks before booking your Lip Blush appointment.

    CONSULTATIONS

  • Lip Blush enhances the natural color and shape of the lips by adding a soft, even tint. Lip Neutralization, on the other hand, is designed for clients with dark or uneven pigmentation. It focuses on balancing and evening out the lip tone before applying any desired color. Lip Blush is more about enhancing color, while Lip Neutralization focuses on creating an even base.

    LIP NEUTRALIZATION

  • Pain tolerance varies, but most clients describe the sensation as mild discomfort. A high-quality numbing agent is applied after the outline and first layer to ensure comfort throughout the rest of the procedure. Many clients rate the experience as a 2-3 on a scale of 1-10. You may feel mild discomfort at first, but the numbing will take full effect as the procedure progresses.

  • Please avoid alcohol, caffeine, and blood thinners for at least 48 hours before your appointment. Bring reference photos of your desired lip look and your favorite lip color for shade matching. Come hydrated and make sure your lips are well-moisturized in the days leading up to the appointment. Exfoliate your lips at least 3 days before your appointment with a sugar scrub. If you have a history of cold sores, take antiviral medication as prescribed by your doctor to prevent any outbreaks. Be sure to follow the full pre-care instructions for the best results!

    PRE-CARE | AFTERCARE

  • Most clients will experience a full healing process within 10-14 days, though initial color will fade by about 30-50% during this time. Your lips may appear darker immediately after the procedure and during healing but will soften into the final shade as they heal. It’s important to avoid applying makeup or skincare products to your lips during the healing process.

    PRE-CARE | AFTERCARE

  • The procedure usually takes around 3-3.5 hours, which includes the consultation, color selection, numbing, and the actual application process.

  • Yes, a touch-up is included with the service and is usually scheduled 6-8 weeks after the initial procedure. This session ensures any fading or adjustments are addressed. An additional touch-up can be booked 4-6 weeks after the included one for $100. Anything beyond this timeframe will be considered a maintenance and charged accordingly.

    PRE-CARE | AFTERCARE

  • It’s common for your lips to appear darker in the first few days after the procedure, but this will lighten as they heal. Minor scabbing or flaking may occur, which is part of the natural healing process. Be sure to follow your aftercare instructions closely to avoid any complications, and avoid picking or peeling the lips to ensure proper healing.

    PRE-CARE | AFTERCARE

  • Yes, clients with previous lip tattoos may still be candidates for Lip Blush, depending on the saturation and color of their existing pigment. If the previous work has faded enough, we can often work over it to create a fresh and natural look. However, if the pigment is too dark or saturated, removal treatments may be required before proceeding with Lip Blush.

If you're unsure about whether you’re a good candidate, feel free to send me a photo of your lips, book a consultation or fill out a form and I’ll guide you through the best next steps!
